Sturgis Boat Works is the premier supplier of small racing sailboats in the US .  We pride ourselves on being the Youth and Performance Sailing Experts.  Our retail location is on Cape Cod in MA, we are the largest Vanguard Sailboats dealer in the US , the largest 420 dealer in the World, and the North American importer of the Winner Optimist Dinghy.  Sturgis Boat Works offers 420, Laser, Optimist and 29er charters at major regattas across the country. 

Job Description  

This position is a key part of the Sturgis Boat Works Team.  The main responsibilities will be marketing, sales and office support.  This position is based on Cape Cod , with some travel required.  This position offers a unique opportunity to earn a competitive salary in the sailing industry in a small business environment.  Every member of the Team is crucial and contributes to the form and direction of the company.  Health insurance, vacation and other benefits to qualified applicants.  

Marketing Responsibilities:

• Effectively market and advertise the Sturgis Boat Works brand
• Manage / grow the marketing e-mail list
• Create monthly newsletters/announcements
• Continually create unique marketing opportunities
• Manage scholastic program relationships; involves sales
• Create and manage advertising and marketing budget
• Manage and coordinate boat shows
• Participate in networking events

Sales:

• All members of the Sturgis Boat Works Team are sales driven
• Develop and manage customer relationships

Office Support:

• Manage schedules; seasonal employees, event calendar, product deliveries
• Website management and updates
• Domestic parts purchasing; soft goods and boat parts
• Manage and execute internet orders
• Manage event reservations and confirmations
• Add to / Create a database of templates and documents; sales sheets, order forms, addresses, quotes, form letters, return sheets

Candidate Qualifications:

• College education; preferably in business/marketing
• Small boat sailing knowledge a must; 420, Laser, Optimist
• Coaching, racing small boats considered a big plus
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office Applications
• Motivated, self-starter with positive attitude
• Willingness to work increased hours during summer months, and some Saturday mornings
